Bicoastal Team Reunion Rescue!

To cap off our biggest week of rescues so far, Amelia Air teamed up with the largest no-kill adoption and rescue group in the world: North Shore Animal League America! For this incredibly special rescue mission, almost all of our bicoastal volunteers gathered in Farmingdale, New York to meet the Animal League team with their incredible mobile adoption unit.

On the ground in Orangeburg, South Carolina, our founder & pilot Dean, pilot & partner Rob, and animal attendant extraordinaire Katy loaded up 19 lucky puppies, kittens, cats and dogs from Lakeside Animal Rescue. After fueling up the Cessna Conquest, the Amelia Air crew and their passengers flew to Farmingdale, New York to deliver the pets to brighter futures.

Ready to greet the plane in New York, our cofounder & pilot Petra, social media manager Stacy, logistics coordinator Nicole, and volunteer pilot David were waiting with the incredible Animal League media team, along with local press.

The team swiftly unloaded the cats & dogs from the Conquest into comfortable temporary digs inside the fully outfitted mobile unit provided by North Shore Animal League America.

While flying is the norm for our team, we were happy to hear from the Animal League group that our rescue mission saved them - and the animals! - 3 days of driving time. Instead, our flight from South Carolina to New York took under 3 hours, which prioritizes the health and safety of the pets under our care.

After doing some quick interviews for press outlets, the Amelia Air and Animal League teams said goodbye for now - and hello to a new collaboration to save as many pets as possible on the Eastern seaboard!

You can catch rescue highlights on our Instagram, or below on these amazing press outlets in Long Island and around the USA.

Huge thanks to the amazing team at North Shore Animal League, and for all of our supporters’ commitment to Amelia Air - your donations and advocacy for our mission makes what we do possible!
