Malvina Flies a DC Dozen!

Another 12 animals were spared from an overcrowded shelter today, thanks to Amelia Air’s amazing volunteer pilot Malvina and our partners at DC Paws Rescue!

Our plane was packed with lucky pets including 4-year old Boxer/Terrier mix Ruth Ann and her three 13-week-old puppies Rufus, Regina, and Roger! Also on board were Rhodes, a 2-year old sweet lab-mix, and two very bonded senior Chihuahua mix dogs, ages 8 and 10! Purring along for the entire ride were sweet little eight-week-old kittens named Spunky, Sprite, Nyla, Nia, and Nial. These seven beautiful dogs and five adorable kittens were brought up from an overflowing shelter in Florence, South Carolina and now get to start new lives in the nation's capital thanks to DC Paws!

Amelia Air was lucky to have the talented photographer, Dan Brown, on the ground in Leesburg with DC Paws! Check out the collage below to see some of the awesome snaps he got of the pets who flew to safety on this mission!

Amelia Air proudly reports that Sunday’s successful mission brings the total number of animals saved by Amelia Air in 2021 to 96!! We are on track with our goal of saving 250 animals before the year ends. You can donate securely via our secure digital payment system any time - every dollar is appreciated by the animals whose lives are saved by our work!
