On March 7, 2021, Amelia Air teamed up again with our amazing rescue partners, DC Paws, to fly some animals from a southern shelter in Florence, SC to the Leesburg, VA. Our Leaping Leprechauns were quick to promise rainbows and sunshine for these shelter pets!

In a new Amelia Air record for a single flight, pilots Rob Allen and Marco Leon - along with logistics superstar Nicole Mirando - were responsible for flying 24 lucky cats, dogs, kittens, and puppies to new beginnings!

On the ground in Florence, SC, the team thanked their shamrocks that all 24 rescue pets could safely fit in Rob's Cessna Conquest. Building each individual crate inside the aircraft was a challenge, but nothing an Irish blessing couldn't save!

Slightly behind schedule, but safe and secure, the six-foot doctor and his copilot shimmied past the crates into the cockpit. Both good-natured and not at all trickster Leprechauns, Rob and Marco smoothly delivered these 24 gold coins each with four paws to Leesburg, VA, where foster and adoptive families were waiting to pick up their new best friends!
