Allison Janney Raises $51k for Amelia Air!

How lucky are we? After last year’s wildly successful West Wing themed sweepstakes to raise money for Amelia Air, the Academy Award and 7-time Emmy Award winning actress Allison Janney came back for round 2! For her second sweepstakes to benefit Amelia Air, Allison collected a range of one-of-a-kind prizes from the set of her groundbreaking show MOM, which just wrapped up after running for 8 incredible seasons. The memorabilia included autographed show scripts, shirts and handbags worn on the show, a signed MOM hat, and DVD sets of all the seasons!

When Allison took to her social media channels to invite everyone to enter or share the fundraiser for a chance to win, over 1,200 individual donors answered the call and chipped in. In only 10 days, we raised a total of $50,937 to fund our mission to rescue shelter pets from euthanasia!!

We timed our fundraiser to coincide with the Emmy Awards, when Allison was up for her final Emmy nomination for her role as the iconic Bonnie Plunkett on MOM. While she didn’t take home the trophy this time around, she does have our endless gratitude for being such a tireless advocate for animals and people of all stripes!

We would also like to extend a massive thank you to the person who made not only this fundraiser, but BOTH of our sweepstakes possible: Stacy Schecter, our social media and press manager! Stacy worked tirelessly behind the scenes to coordinate all the prizes, content, social media, sweepstakes setup, press, shipping and so much more. The whole team at Amelia Air is blown away by what she accomplished last year, this year, and every day she goes to work on behalf of shelter pets. Only one year after joining our organization, Stacy has expanded our dreams of what Amelia Air can achieve - and we are so very grateful!
