Reuniting a Marine & His Dog Diesel

Remember Diesel, the dog who Amelia Air flew to safety last December after his dad, a Marine, was deployed? Diesel had been left in the care of his dad’s roommate, also a Marine, who was also sent overseas last minute to serve his country. Diesel quickly ran out of options, and with his dad Pat halfway around the world, he was desperate to find someone who would keep his dog safe until he returned.

Enter: Amelia Air! Cofounder Petra first heard Diesel’s story through her flight instructor, Kevin. She flew to Twentynine Palms to rescue Diesel before he wound up in a shelter, where his future would be anything but certain. Friends of her family, the Millers, had generously agreed to foster Diesel at their home in Los Angeles until his dad returned from duty.

Fast forward to May, and Diesel’s dad has now returned from his deployment! Petra and David got to witness the first reunion for Amelia Air, and it did not disappoint. Check out our recap video below from this one of a kind moment!

A huge thank you to Diesel’s dad Pat, and all the Marines who keep our country safe; to the Millers, for keeping Diesel safe; and for everyone who came together to make this day so special!
